Bio:
Charlene Cook has been teaching over 30 years. Starting off teaching band for 10 years then moving to elementary music. She has been teaching in Hamilton County since 1999, starting at McBrien Elementary in 2002 and moving to East Ridge Elementary when the two schools merged.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Music: Instrumental Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University, Masters of Education: Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. She has specialty training in the Orff-Schulwerk and Kodaly methods for music education.
When not teaching, Mrs. Cook enjoys playing alto saxophone in the Mid-South Concert Band, playing hand bells with her church hand bell choir, quilting, reading historical fiction, and traveling to the Smokies. She is married and has one adult daughter.
