Message to East Ridge Families from Dr. McMillan, Principal of ERES
I am thrilled to be back at East Ridge and stepping into the role of principal for the 2023-2024 school year! As we look forward to our students brightening up our hallways again in just a few short weeks, I hope you are all enjoying a restful and relaxing summer.
East Ridge is on the cusp of greatness - we saw some really wonderful growth in our students last year and we have some exciting new things planned for the year in terms of instruction and student supports. We are also planning some new STEAM integrations, which will include more family fun nights - and we are looking to hopefully restart our PTA! If you are interested in being a part of that, please be on the lookout for more information!
Online registration should reopen for families toward the end of this week. If you have a returning student and you have not already filled out the online registration information, we encourage you to do so. If you need help, the district has a registration hotline, which will be available from 2:30 - 6:00 PM on weekdays. You can call 423-498-5437 to reach this hotline or send them an email at [email protected]. We will also host registration in our building at the beginning of August. Just like in the past, please be sure to bring two proofs of residency (with the name of the student’s parent or guardian) that have June, July, or August 2023 dates.
We will be communicating out dates and information for registration, the first day of school, Open House, Parent Conferences, and Family Nights within the next few weeks, so please be on the lookout for those things. We also have our first opportunity of the year for parent and community volunteers on Saturday, July 29. We are participating in the county’s Better Together day and will be brightening up the inside and outside of the building and getting it ready for students to return.
